I bought the first Android phone available on the T-Mobile network back in 2008.  It was the HTC/T-Mobile G1 and I loved it. After that I was using a variety of Motorola Android phones and after leaving Motorola I purchased my first Samsung Android phone.

The Vibrant was a good phone, then I bought the Galaxy S2, S4, and finally the S5.  The Galaxy series was excellent and I still use my S2 regularly running the latest Cyanogenmod flavor.

The S5 had a gorgeous screen, took fantastic pictures and was a very fast phone.  I had ongoing annoyances with hesitations when switching screens, bluetooth stuttering, bluetooth dropping, odd sounds over bluetooth, random phone restarts, etc. that I hadn’t had with previous models.  The S5 had gotten to a point where I had to factory reset it 3 times within a 30 day period.

I have been an Apple computer user for years, but I just didn’t like the smaller screens of the iPhone 4 and 5, but when the 6 came out I decided to look at it again.  The iPhone 6 had the perfect sized screen.  It’s about the same width as my Galaxy S2, but a little taller.  The battery life has been as good as my S5 and I have been extremely happy with that since it was one of my major concerns.

The bluetooth stuttering and odd sounds are gone with the iPhone 6, everything works extremely well. It also seems to integrate better with my bluetooth devices.  An example is with my Sena BT headset in my motorcycle helmet where the button for voice control immediately pulls up SIRI and works flawlessly.  With my S5 using the S-Voice app on the phone, it was hit or miss and didn’t work that well.  In my Prius it ties in better using the car’s BT system when I want to use SIRI and utilizes the car’s speakers for navigation.

One other item that caused me worry was the inability to upgrade storage space as needed, but after realizing I wasn’t using an entire 32GB add-on card I went for the 64GB phone, loaded all of my apps, my pictures, movies, and music and I still have 45GB free.  Every application I had used on my S5 had an iPhone equivalent!

I was very apprehensive about switching to an iPhone, but after becoming more and more frustrated with my S5, it was worth the risk.  I am glad that I did it.
