Mattress Fun

Mattress Fun

I had been thinking of getting a new mattress for about a year and began investigating the new-comers and highly rated mattress options currently available. I have had a Tempurpedic for over 10 years and liked it, but wanted to replace it.

In the past six months I had narrowed my search down to the “Tuft & Needle” and the “Casper” mattress based on reviews and material/construction methods.

Having one friend who has a girlfriend with a “T&F” who said he liked it, and another who has a Casper and also liked it I asked them about their own mattresses, their thoughts on each of the others as well how firm/soft they felt and the level of comfort provided. Neither person described the mattresses as “hot” so that was good.

One of the things I like about the T&F is its two layer setup. It seems simpler, but I know it’s not. There’s a lot of time and thought that went into the mixture of materials for the top layer. It has a great bouncy feel, I feel like I’m floating on it, but there is nothing that is “too firm” about it, it’s just right.

The other major plus was that I am supporting a local Phoenix business. That makes me feel even better about this purchase.

My shopping experience…

I remembered that I was near the T&F facility when I was driving home from lunch downtown with a friend and decided to stop in. The person working the front desk was very friendly and had me sign in for an appointment. I sat down, texted another friend of mine who is also looking for a bed and told him that I was at T&F and about to check it out. I was sitting there for less than two minutes when Matt greeted me and took me into your showroom. I sat on the bed, we talked about the materials, etc. and based on the feel of the bed it was an easy
decision to make. We checked if there were any mattresses in my requested size in your facility, and luckily there were! I paid using your iMac payment setup (super easy), backed my car up to the warehouse and that was it.

When I arrived home I carried/drug the box into my bedroom and unpacked it. Once it was unrolled I took off the plastic and it was on its way to full expansion. I put sheets and a blanket on it and went back to work. I was very comfortable sleeping on it and look forward to many years of sound sleep.

I hope this description of my decision making process and buying experience helps. I’ve already posted two pictures on Instagram and tagged T&F.
