Let’s get to the ride!!!

This year’s trip will be a little different from others due to the fact that I am focusing on one state…Colorado. I’ll take an extra day on my way north to the Black Hills in South Dakota to not only make it a more comfortable ride, but to explore some areas I haven’t in the past.

On the way back from South Dakota I’ll head into southern Colorado to explore the Black Canyon area and areas around Ouray, CO.  One of the mechanics who has serviced my motorcycle over the past few years has always suggested that I spend some time there.  Done!

General route information:

• Day 1: Phoenix to Grand Junction
• Day 2: Grand Junction, CO to Laramie, WY (not many miles, but I want to explore a few areas in the Rocky Mountain National Park)
• Day 3: Laramie to Rapid City
• Day 4 – 7:  Camping in the Black Hills with family
• Day 8: Rapid City to Denver
• Day 9: Denver to Ouray, CO
• Day 10-12: Explore Black Canyon, and trails around Ouray
• Day 12: Ouray, CO to Durango, CO
• Day 12-14:  Explore areas around Durango, CO
• Day 15: Durango, CO to Phoenix
