My trip for 2015 is already in the planning stages. After riding around on my 2014 motorcycle trip I realized I wanted to keep going north and visit some places I haven’t been, or haven’t been to in a long time.

Version two of the route is taking shape from Phoenix up to Canada and down to Portland. From Portland I’ll head down into California traveling through a few Redwood groves I am interested in seeing. Not sure if I’ll stop in San Francisco again or head inland to Yosemite. Beyond Yosemite I am unsure… have never been through Death Valley so that might be fun and extremely HOT in July/August.
I’ll likely expand it to the 4,500 or so miles I usually travel, but figure this is a good start. I do not want to go east anywhere other than way up to the northeastern portion of the US, but I’d rather not ride that far (not enough time), nor cross the midsection of the US. Been through there too many times and it is entirely too boring.
As the date approaches – likely June 2015 this page will be updated with more info, then with daily route notes, pictures and videos.
Update: May 2015
The route is getting more locked down as August approaches. It was moved from June to August due to the date my Parent’s chose for their 50th wedding anniversary get together. It’s now at Priest Lake, ID at my Uncle’s cabins. They had thought about doing a boat trip down the Rhine in Germany, but decided against that (still disagree with that decision) and also decided against a train tour in northwest Canada (the reason why I chose much of my Canadian route) due to the cost, which was going to be more than what their Europe trip would have cost…what the heck Canadian Rail? I still don’t know why Canadian Rail thinks they can charge so much for a train trip.

Anyway…the updated route is below and will likely change a bit more as the date of departure approaches. I’m getting my stops setup so that I can stay with, or just visit with family and friends along the route. I’m up to around 4,800+ miles so I think I’ll break the 5,000 mile barrier this trip. 🙂

I’ve also updated my DL650 ongoing work page to reflect add-ons to the bike as well as some I will be doing before this trip. Why are accessories so expensive!?
I also switched to a different planning tool. This is using Roadtrippers.com.
